Sand cast solid glass Rock sculpture with smooth glossy front and very rough and tactile sides and back.
Textures are achieved from being cast into in a sand mould, and the mould is broken up after glass is poured into it so every piece is unique.
Colours are a mix of handblown thin coloured shards in turquoise, dark blue, aquamarine, dark grey stringers and last some thin gold and copper leaf.
This sculpture also comes in hyacinth, silver amethyst and purple with added dark grey stringers and thin copper leaf.
Inspiration: My Father is a retired Geologist, so I grew up with pretty rocks and precious stones all around the house. I have attempted to recreate the rocks from memory, using glass shards and colours building up layers as a thick solid collage in glass. Each piece is unique and never look the same, so please feel free to ask for more images of the piece/pieces we have in stock.
